OCDHA CE Event – “Keeping Up With the Joneses… Policy Updates for Pediatric Dentistry”

Tiberia, D.D.S., M.S. Dr. Tiberia attended Northwestern University Dental School and received her dental degree in 1999. She completed her specialty training at the University of Michigan where she published her Master's thesis in Early Childhood Caries and was a Mott Fellow at Hurly Medical Center. In 2007, she became a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tiberia has joined the staff of Children's Hospital of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, where she treats patients in a hospital setting and teaches Pediatric Dentistry for the residents. She volunteers at Beaumont's Craniofacial and Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic. She is active in organized dentistry and currently serves as President of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tiberia practices at Tracht and Briskie Pediatric Dentistry in her home community of Rochester Hills where she and her husband reside with their two daughters. COURSE OBJECTIVES: Review changes to The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's Reference Manual with regards to clinical guidelines and policies for treatment of infants, children, adolescents and those with special needs Discuss frequency of exam, caries risk assessment, fluoride use, local anesthesia, nitrous oxide safety for both the patient and provider and protective stabilization Explain Strategies for deciding when to treat and when to refer The seminar will take place at Troy Community Center and refreshments will be served.
