Sanctum House is the first residential house in the state for women who have experienced trafficking. She provides comprehensive services to Sanctum House’s residents; helping them access needed services\, and coordinating care across multiple service providers. Prior to joining Sanctum House\, Rachel served in the Peace Corps\, in the Republic of Georgia. Rachel also has experience in case management\, focusing on crisis intervention and case management for foreign-born Human Trafficking Survivors in Los Angeles. Rachel obtained her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California\, and her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Oregon.\nCost to attend: FREE to SSDHA members all others $30 payable to SSDHA. That is roughly 22\,000 new cases per year if cancers of the lip are not included. Between 6000 and 7000 deaths per year occur because of oral cavity cancer. Cancers of the oral cavity left untreated can have devastating effects on critical life functions for people who have this disease. The oral cavity cancer diagnosis\, treatment and rehabilitation is challenging because there are many different types of tissue located in this relatively small area and this area has numerous functions (speech\, mastication\, swallow\, cosmesis). \nThe choice of treatment and rehabilitation must take into account the potential loss of function in this area.
